Probably 3 months ago we decided to start building a structure that would help keep us out of the rain and the sun. Originally I was told it would take roughly 2 weeks... ha, 3 months later we are still working to get things done! Apparently procrastination is a part of every culture. When I would ask the progress people seemed to point at each other and say they were waiting for the other person to do something. Typical. This last Sunday we were able to at least meet under the new structure. The walls are not yet complete and we dont have much of the way of pews but we do have a nice grass roof. We thank the Lord for this structure so the believers in this village are able to meet together to know our great Lord in Truth even during the rain and sun! (yes, I realize it is just poles, grass, bamboo, and branches.)
I always try to emphasize to the people that the structure is just a building - the true church is the people of God! Amazing how easy it is to disconnect and think the size or architecture of a building has anything to do with the growth and faith of the people inside the building.

We are thrilled. Still need to put up half-walls, build some proper mud pews, and maybe even erect a pulpit. Fun times to see people working together for this cause!
