Acts 1:8

This last Sunday we decided to stay near the mission - Pastor Luwawa invited me to come and preach to his people (Kafulafuta Bible Baptist Church). The church is within walking distance and made it easy for Savannah and I to manage our first Zambian church service with our little daughter. Analiese was well celebrated as it has been a long time since having an infant (muzungu) child staying at the Kafulafuta area!

Services went well. God's word was preached. The message was on being a Great Commission church. Many churches in Zambia over the years look at themselves as the "mission field". Because of that belief, they have become very self-focused and dont see the harvest beyond their borders. I believe, once a church is planted, that church is no longer the mission field but has a responsibility to reach the mission field.We had a few respond to the message and many seemed stirred to want to reach their neighbor! Praise the LORD!

Colossians 1:3

Sometimes things just fall into place... recently I spent the day with Dr. Freret (BEAMS President). We spent the day traveling to Alabama to pick up a tractor and enjoying some good fellowship. On the way back to Gulfport, MS, I talked about the poor condition of our mission road in Zambia. Every year the rains damage the road causing what can be a 15 minute drive into a 45 minute drive. The poor road conditions limit our mobility as well as damage the mission and clinic vehicles. Dr. Freret happened to know a man that makes quality graders. After some time we were able to contact this man and see about purchasing a grader for Africa.

I went to pick put a 7ft grader this last Friday from this man. He said he was not going to charge me because of our ministry and efforts in Africa. The only payment he asked for was that  we pray for him, his family, and his business. This is such a huge blessing!! Once we get this equipment back to Kafulafuta, it will go a long way in keeping this road in manageable shape so that our mission work may continue to move forward! Thank you David Shaw for your willingness to give for the cause of Christ in Zambia, Africa!

Isaiah 40:31

Things are getting closer!! We purchased and have now received confirmation of our airline tickets to Zambia. The days of actually receiving a paper ticket in the mail are over but we did receive an email. We are all looking forward to getting back to Zambia and the work of the ministry but I must admit my desire to bypass the 24 actual flight hours... not to mention the layovers. Imagine old time missionaries going by boat - thank you Lord for Boeing and Airbus!!

Philippians 4:6

One of our concerns after having our baby was getting the paper work done so we could get our passports completed. Not sure why I have not learned the lesson yet.. of course, the Lord truly worked it all out so perfectly. The birth certificate was completed in only 3 days, the social security number was given after only 7 days, and we received her passport after only 7 days!!

(Phil 4:6)  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

We went into all of this praying and wanting to see the Lord bring it all together. It has been wonderful to see just that happen. Thank you my Lord! We now have three passports and the airline tickets needed to get back to Africa!!
