PTC - graduation

PTC is short for Pastor's Training Course. Many years ago Bobby Bonner came up with the idea of training the rural pastors that could not speak good English in the vernacular language. This training program blossomed with more than 100 men attending since 1991.

Yesterday, we had a graduation ceremony for many of the men that have graduated. It was a wonderful day and one I believe truly pleased our Lord. I believe one of the main responsibilities of a missionary is to train nationals in the word of God in order that they can reach their own people. The events on Sunday was a blessing to a be a part of as we were able to see the many years of work come together! Many of the graduates wives formed a choir group to honor their husbands. There was much celebrating!! We even had in attendance the Permanent Secretary for the Cooperbelt District - it was great to speak with a man of such authority and see God use him in a mighty way.

I had the privilege of giving a "charge" the the large graduating class of over 40 men. It seemed like an easy choice of Scripture as I read through 2 Timothy 4. I preached the following message:
1. Preach the Word
2. Prove the Ministry
3. Persevere in All
