We visited Maunda Bible Baptist Church on Sunday. This church came to me last year asking for help with their roofing project. I told the Pastor that if the people could raise 1,500,000 ZKM that the mission would help with the rest. Initially the Pastor was discouraged at trying to raise such a large amount of money. I encouraged him to use this as a "faith project" his people could learn to trust the Lord with as they sacrificially gave. It is with great excitement that 2 weeks ago the church brought the last 200,000 necessary to make the 1.5 million commitment. These people have already built the church walls and now are just waiting to construct the roof - truly they have "a mind to work". We all rejoiced as we glory in all that God is doing in His people!! Our God is Faithful and delights to reward them that diligently seek Him!!
I preached from 2 Timothy 1:7 on being controlled by fear or by the power of God. It seemed like the people understood the message as 2 were saved and 2 came for repentance. Praise the LORD!
The church is still meeting in the "old" building which you see below. We had attendance of 75 which was pretty much a full house! I have included some pictures of the unfinished new building. When complete, it should be able to hold between 150-175 people! Please continue praying for this church as they will need to make benches, cement the floor and walls, and raise funds for doors!

III John 1:6
Visited Fibungu West Bible Baptist Church this last Sunday. The pastor of the church (Luke Chimbanyama) is one of our recent Bible Institute graduates. It is always exciting to see the people you invest in doing well and succeeding in the gospel ministry.
The church is growing! They had 45 children for Sunday School and 65 adults for the main service. The current building they are in has no walls and does not hold up well during the rainy season. The pastor has initiated a building project in order to house the people more properly. So far, the brick wills are up to the window level and plans to be completed should be some time in July!I was asked to preach a message on Spiritual Growth. I chose 2 Peter 1 as a text. Spent most of the time talking about the "exceeding great and precious promises". The message was well received as we saw the Spirit moving in the hearts of the people!
Continue to pray for this church and the pastor as they seek to walk by Biblical faith and shed the trappings of the old man!

Acts 1:8
This last Sunday we decided to stay near the mission - Pastor Luwawa invited me to come and preach to his people (Kafulafuta Bible Baptist Church). The church is within walking distance and made it easy for Savannah and I to manage our first Zambian church service with our little daughter. Analiese was well celebrated as it has been a long time since having an infant (muzungu) child staying at the Kafulafuta area!
Services went well. God's word was preached. The message was on being a Great Commission church. Many churches in Zambia over the years look at themselves as the "mission field". Because of that belief, they have become very self-focused and dont see the harvest beyond their borders. I believe, once a church is planted, that church is no longer the mission field but has a responsibility to reach the mission field. We had a few respond to the message and many seemed stirred to want to reach their neighbor! Praise the LORD!
